Wow, when was the last time I blogged again? Looks like I've been busy, huh? LOL.

I'm at a restaurant now, just had dinner with my sister. We're both in Lumut again. Just arrived here at around 12 noon. It was so tiring, but thank God the traffic wasn't heavy. There weren't much trucks either today.

I'm so looking forward to this weekend. We're going to Pangkor Island!! I'm soooooo excited about this. I bring my camera along so while she's working, I'll be sightseeing and taking photos. I really can't wait for the weekend to come.

Oh anyway, I actually have a freebie to share with you today, but my laptop is in a critical state so I'll post it later. To those who had posted messages in the chatbox, thank you so much. Keep posting coz I love reading them, hehe :)

Oh btw, I really did crash the mall last weekend, but you know what I got myself? Lots of cushions & cushion covers, a new pillow, and a Clinique Happy Heart perfume. I almost bought some new fabrics too - Chinese silk - they're so BEAUTIFUL! And OMG so cheap too! But my sister told me not to buy them because it was obvious I was drooling over them and I wasn't using my brain at all at that time, LOL! And MNG is having a really huge sale this week. I don't know if I can go to the mall this weekend for some clothes shopping (I need some new pants) coz I've promised to my sister that we'll go shopping for some room decoration stuff together. Perhaps I could sneak-shopping, KWIM, but I'd be really broke by January. I've spent a lot of money this month. WAY over my non-existent budget. I even got some financial-related books, but haven't got the chance to read them yet. I think I should start reading them very soon. I should save myself from being an impulse shopper. *sigh*

Anyway, hope you have a great time with your family! It's my mother's birthday every Christmas (December 25), but we didn't have fancy food today. My eldest sister is in the UK and my eldest brother is on honeymoon in New Zealand. Not much fun if we have fancy food without them. Maybe next year :)

Yummy - chocolate truffles!!

Did you expect to see some photos of home-made truffles? LOL - sorry, I don't have any! But I'm so excited to share with you a website I just discovered while searching for some chocolate truffles recipes - the ExpertVillage.com.

Here's a series of videos by Lauren Taylor showing step-by-step to making your own choco truffles. Oh btw, you can find my profile there - of course it's zakirahzakaria as usual. See, I'm not creative with names!

Oh anyway, I want to try my hands at making truffles now. My mum & sister just got back from New Zealand and they brought home some nice kiwi truffles - so delicious. What I wanted to try my hands at is something simpler for a beginner like me - chocolate truffles, for example - perhaps not so simple after all, but I think it's worth trying. My mum's birthday is coming this December 25 and it'll be nice if we have something out of the usual things to savour on that day, isn't it?

So now, apart from learning to make truffles, I'm also in the middle of re-designing my room (the one I'm sharing with my elder sis). We both agree that it's time we try our hands at making our room looks like something in the Domino book. I know, sounds ambitious, LOL, but hey, why not? We're not gonna paint the walls, buy a chandelier. Rather, we're gonna put some life to our current furniture, namely our white drawers, cupboards. We're also gonna buy new curtains for our windows. The one we have now is a little too heavy and doesn't look light to the eyes. Our palette is a mix of neutral and zesty colours.

I wish I could share some photos but I'm short of time at the moment, so I hope I'll be able to be back with some photos.

It's a new arrival though so it'll be next year till I can get my hands on it. It's so embarrassing, but I've seen it since the last 3 weeks and I still can't get it out of my heads. I think a lot of people hate it because of the brand, so I won't take the risk of mentioning it here, LOL. Even if I will, I'll show the picture instead of mentioning the brand!

Fever...and some things to share!

Hey guys, how are you doing? Me, not so good. I've been having this fever for 3 days. What scares me is that my eldest sister is now having the dengue fever. She found it out early and went to the doctor as soon as she found out about it, and her dengue fever is not serious so she's not hospitalized at the moment. But she's really ill (poor her) and I'm quite worried too. Let's hope that mine is just the normal fever...

Anyway, I haven't been checking my email for a few days now. I know there'll be a lot of work-related emails and I'm not really fit for that at the moment, so I'll let my inbox get full first and I'll do the catching-up game when I feel better.

I've been reading my Google Reader today and I have a lot to share.

1. First of all, have you heard of Anahata Katkin? She's a great artist and sells a lot of artistic journals, art prints, postcards, stationery sets, etc etc.

2. I found this precious blog thru Aggie and I must say that this is one blog I'm adding to my Google Reader! I checked her Free Projects and I'm dying to try this one out: I Have To Confess.

A very interesting project which I think I might end up with a mini-book about myself. Anyone wants to join me? :D

3. Sometimes I know I want to scrapbook about something but I just feel at lost. Today I stumbled upon this Journaling Junkie blog through Vicki Boutin's blog and I'm adding it to my Scrapping Ideas bookmark folder. Love their journaling prompts.

Last but not least. I have a few things to be done by the end of November. A few things related to my brother's reception on November 30th, a few things related to Black Friday events at Scrap Orchard, and a few things related to graphic design work (yup, I'm freelancing!). Boy, thinking of those gave me headache.

My brother asked me to do something for his reception but I only got the items last-minute. Dad asked me to make some shortbreads for the family's high-tea on the evening before the reception. I need to start making them tomorrow. I'm also gonna play an unimportant role during the reception which involves the stage. Now I feel overwhelmed with all these. It's flattering that dad likes my shortbread so much that he wants me to make some for the high-tea that evening. I couldn't say no coz I felt so honoured. Plus, it's dad. There's no way I'm gonna say no. It's just that, I don't feel capable of making them now. I hope I'll feel much better tomorrow so I can finish whatever I need to finish. It looks like a lot now, but think I can do it.

Sorry for rambling a lot today.. I just felt like I need to write it all down.

BTW, today's the last day of my BF's final exam. I'm so happy. I've been neglected for a few weeks now & I can't wait to spill out my stories to him.

Watching You Grow

I have so many photos of Ika - since she was a baby and till she grows up today. 3 days ago, when she came to our house & stayed (for the wedding reception), I kept feeling sentimental about this whole growing up thing.

During the reception, my cousin's little girl, Nadia (2 years old) and another cousin's little boy, Aman (3 years old) were there too. They're the best of friends EVER. Aman wouldn't eat until Nadia ate at his table too. He was so excited when he saw Nadia - he was grinning the whole night & feeding him was a breeze for his mum.

I'm still sentimental about the kids...honestly, I can barely wait to see them grow up, go to school.. I'm eager to see them in the next chapter of their life. I hope we'll still be as close as we are today. I love them so much, they're very dear to me. Everytime I hold them, I feel a magical feeling inside me. I don't know what it is but I think they're special - TRULY SPECIAL.

I guess this is my personal record, lol - 8 days of no blogging!

Not cool but it's something I couldn't help. We have a problematic internet here and real life has got so busy lately too. I hope I'll still have time to do all these things when school starts. Thinking of it scares me, I'm afraid I won't have much time in my hands for internet activities anymore once the semester starts in December. But I'll do my best while I have the time.

My nieces, as usual. I took the photos 6 months ago, in June. That was when Aliaa had a bad skin condition - rashes everywhere. She could only behave for a while coz the rashes bother her a lot, she sometimes didn't have the mood to play. Poor her. But now the rashes are gone & she's healthy & happy. Which makes me happy too :)

That's my youngest brother, Hakim, playing football in front of the house. He RARELY plays outside coz he prefers to play computer games or read Manga. I forgot today's (in my case, since it's 3.50am now, yesterday) date is October 19, which marks our 20 months together! Yeah we count our months, hehe. We still count our years, but we'll have to wait for 4 more months to reach 2 years. I can't believe it, honestly. And he's always the one who remembers it. He called me this evening & we talked for so long, reminiscing some sweet memories. I can still remember everything he said, hehe...

A little about him. This guy is so traditional. He doesn't have a Friendster or Facebook, rarely surfs the internet, doesn't care about emails, yahoo messenger, let alone photography! That's why I don't have any good pictures of him in my laptop. All are pixelated when resized coz they're taken using his camera phone. But it's better than nothing, right?

My youngest sis snapped this photo of me several months ago when we went to Penang. And I made this page a day before Eid. I was feeling really down on that day, everything seemed to fall. After talking to someone, I felt much better, but eventually fell ill on the first day of Eid.

So last month I went to meet Jessy, Sya, Emi (yup, Emi came to Malaysia!!!) & Novita at KLCC. It's my FIRST TIME meeting digi friends in real life, and I was like, urm, shy?? Heheheeee.

It's like, there's nothing left for me, except to keep hoping. Though I tried & I tried. But nothing works. Makes me frustrated & at times I feel like I just want to let go of everything. No more trying, no more hoping, no more efforts. No more nothing. I'm too frustrated & disappointed to continue. Tired. Not too keen anymore to try. I've tried enough & I've had enough. Of rudeness, evil. I've tolerated, been nice, even taught her a few tricks for Photoshop. What she gave back to me were her classic evilness, sharp words, smirks & more smirks & smirks & smirks & endless smirks. She's EVIL. I tell you, she's not even like a sister. Yet she's my sister. Oh no, I'm trapped with this evil spirit in this house.

Yes, I'm talking about my EVIL sister. On the 10th day of Ramadhan. The holy month.

Goodness. Whatever is happening to me. Backbiting my EVIL sister in this holy month. Oh, at least I have an excuse. She hurts me with her smirks & smirks & smirks & more smirks yesterday when we were breaking our fast, and even more today during sahur. That's reasonable enough for me. I'm the victim.

There, I feel better now coz I've let go of it. PHEEEEEEW.

I read Britt's blog just now and she did this BlogThing's test, so I took it too! The results are not 100% true though, lol. I don't think I'm really an all-round kid. I missed the Additional Maths classes several times in the final year and got reprimanded by the teacher. And, urm, if bowling IS athletic then it's 100% true, ROFL!!!

I'm quickly trying to catch up now....and I need to take a deep breath..

It's been a pretty crazy day today. I tried to make a list of things that happened today just to find myself hitting the 'delete' key.

*sigh*

Anyway, in case I didn't blog (yes I forgot when did I last blogged) in the past 2 days, I was actually having flu (I think it's flu; I didn't see the doctor) and was bedridden the whole day for 2 days. Couldn't even open my eyes, lol. Now that I feel so much better (but I could hardly take a deep breath - seems like there are millions of stuff to do!) I even baked a cake for my nieces this morning. My nieces are here for the school break for a few days. There are only 2 of them but boy, they're a handful!! Especially the youngest one, Aliaa. She is an attention seeker, ROFL!!

Ok, I'm off to find some peace, do some catching up and sleep. It's 12.35am and I'd better not sleep late yet again!

I'm writing this while listening/watching Britney's Sometimes video on Youtube. I loved her so much when I was 12, I still have the cassette that I bought back then, lol.

Ok, back to business! I forgot to reveal my grab bag yesterday. I slept the whole day! I guess I'm still tired from the vacation. The trip from the hotel to the airport yesterday made me dizzy. And the flight wasn't a pleasant experience. But the whole vacation was great, lol.
